Thanks to you the ride this year was another phenomenal success, and we raised more than ever before for our troops – over $100,000! Here are a few pics of a small crew getting set up late Thursday night in preparation for the big day.
Here are dozens of pics from the day of the event, starting at Orange County Harley-Davidson, en route, and at the Planes of Fame Museum. Can you find yourself and your bike? Click on an image for a larger version, and from there, if you want the full size image, click on the photo expander icon then right-click and tell it to save the image to your PC.

Dear Supporter of the Injured Warrior Appreciation Run
Less than one week ago we received notice from Command at Quantico, VA, that reads:
“Given the current state of heightened security awareness we have an obligation to ensure stringent security measures are in place to support the service members and their families that live and work aboard Camp Pendleton. Regrettably, we are unable to continue to support your request to use Wounded Warrior Battalion – West as a site to conduct your event. We appreciation the sustained and generous contributions your event has made to our wounded, ill, and injured service members to assist them and their families during recovery.”
Alexander Graham Bell said “When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.”
The Injured Warrior Appreciation Run committee did not spend time looking at the closed door; instead we focused on the purpose of the event which is to raise greatly needed funds to assist our injured service members with their recovery so we launched a full scale offensive to find a new end location.
I am thrilled to announce the Planes of Fame Air Museum in Chino, CA has graciously opened their doors and will be this year’s end location. Lunch and the presentation ceremony will be held in front of one of the huge hangars and what’s new is every participant receives free admission to the Museum for the day to enjoy the over 150 vintage aircraft (many are still flyable) and displays. You can read more about the museum by visiting the site.
All other aspects of our ride remain unchanged. Our day will begin at Orange County Harley- Davidson and all participants will receive:
We want to thank you for your continued support and we are excited to see you all at our new venue on November 6th.
Sincerely,
Kim Kohlenberger
